Preparations are underway for the Piada Trophy that wants to be reconfirmed as one of the most fun regattas of the Snipe Class.
The Piada is always the Piada, but this year it also a National regatta, an International regatta, and it awards two trophies: the now-classic Manlio Mignani and the prestigious Summer Circuit in conjunction with the German Open, which has just taken place in Caldonazzo.
The Club Nautico Riccione and the Royal Yacht Club Portoverde are working hard to make the three days on the waters of the Adriatic unforgettable.
Teams from US include Jensen McTighe, Steve Lang, Greg Saldana and Kathleen Tocke. Manu Hens from Belgium and other European teams are also expected.
All the best Italian Snipe Sailors will be at the starting line, since this is one of the best sailing areas of the Adriatic.
About the social events, all are confirmed. The “Piada Grand Prix” will take place in the tortuous and difficult kart race track, a few steps from the Marina where we will be with our Snipes: after sailing, take off the wetsuit and walk to the race track!
The kart race will be even more crazy than in the past years, with karts with double the power of those used in Cervia.

Fervono i preparativi per un Piada Trophy che vuole riconfermarsi come una delle regate più divertenti del pianeta e che quest’anno vale per quattro.
Infatti è regata Nazionale, Internazionale e assegna due trofei challenge: quello ormai classico intitolato a Manlio Mignani e il prestigioso Summer Circuit in abbinamento con il German Open che si è appena svolto a Caldonazzo.
Il club nautico Riccione e il Real Yacht Club Portoverde stanno lavorando al massimo per rendere indimenticabili i tre giorni nelle acque adriatiche.
Hanno confermato la loro partecipazione gli statunitensi Jensen McTighe, Steve Lang, Greg Saldana e Kathleen Tocke. Manu Hens dal Belgio e altri equipaggi europei sono attesi e vi darò notizie appena avrò conferme definitive.
Tutti i migliori snipisti italiani saranno al via in un campo di regata tra i migliori dell’Adriatico.
Per quanto riguarda gli eventi collaterali, sono tutti confermati e il “Piada Grand Prix” si correrà nel tortuoso e difficile circuito a pochi passi dal Marina dove saremo con i nostri Beccaccini: via la muta e tutti a piedi alla pista !
La gara sarà ancora più folle degli scorsi anni con Kart di potenza doppia di quelli utilizzati a Cervia.
Raccomando a tutti di inviare prima possibile l’iscrizione per permettere agli organizzatori di gestire al meglio la manifestazione.
